With manufacturers shoving more and more megapixels into mobile phone cameras, it falls on other photographic-related bells and whistles to entice shoppers into parting with their cash. With 5 and even 8-meg phone-snappers becoming widespread, Samsung has decided to boost the new M8800 Pixon’s appeal by loading the camera with portrait-friendly functionality and tech.

It might bear more than a passing resemblance to the iPhone 3G but the touch screen-toting Tocco manages to outfox Apple in the size stakes – it’s a pocket-friendly 11.6mm thin to the iPhone’s 12.3mm – and Samsung has managed to stuff an iPhone-trumping five-megapixel camera inside that size-zero frame.
