Dead Rising 2 rises from dead

February 10, 2009 by Insider Staff · Leave a Comment

Dead Rising 2Good news for gamers and zombie fans alike: Dead Rising 2 is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 formats. The news comes from Capcom who had a massively unexpected hit with the original Dead Rising two years ago. After the legal wranglings between Capcom and the MKR Group (the rights owners for George A Romero’s Dawn of the Dead), it looked like the franchise may have been dead in the water, but not so. …continue reading Dead Rising 2 rises from dead

Venom’s Wii Hand Cannon is a top gun!

January 20, 2009 by Insider Staff · Leave a Comment

Venom Hand Cannon You love your Wii, right? Of course you do. Well, this could be just about the best Wii peripheral we’ve ever seen. It’s the Venom Hand Cannon for SEGA’s House of the Dead: Overkill and it’s shaped, well, like a hand cannon.

Not too dissimilar to a piece that Dirty Harry would carry, the Hand Cannon is a pistol-shaped “home” for the Wii remote. So when you’re not playing House of the Dead, you can go around asking the dog if he feels lucky, punk. It’s actually styled on the guns used by Agent G in the game, and looks pretty cool.

Pair it up with another Hand Cannon, though, and that’s when the fun really starts. You can either team up with a mate to kill zombies and the undead, but why do that when you yourself have two hands? Next thing you know, you’ll be rolling on the floor, taking cover behind your sofa. And all for the bargain basement price of £12. That’s right. ten plus two of your Sterling. Bargain!

Nintendo DSi launching worldwide?

January 15, 2009 by Insider Staff · 1 Comment

Nintendo DSi DSi. Sounds like a glossy American TV crime drama with amazingly good-looking investigators and more spin-offs than a dodgy vinyl player. It’s actually the latest version of the Nintendo DS, currently only available in Japan, but according to the latest rumours it could soon be about to launch worldwide!

According to IGN, Nintendo is preparing to launch the DSi in the States for around $180. There’s no official word from Ninty, but that would make it around £125 in the UK, which is a more than believable price tag, given that the Japanese currently get it for about £100.

The DSi is essentially a maxed-up version of the Nintendo DS, packing in a souped-up screen, SD card slot and a built-in camera. Like we said, Nintendo is staying tight-lipped over the DSi’s release outside of Japan, but if reports are to be believed, we could be seeing it on these shores soon. Right, we’re off to watch some CSi episodes on Blu-ray. What? They’re extremely good-looking!
