Amazon drops price of 100 more MP3s to 29p!

April 6, 2009 by Insider Staff

AmazonAmazon’s Download Store has just reached the five million song mark, so to celebrate the momentous occasion the online store has only gone and given 100 more of its top-selling MP3s that fabled 29p price tag.

At a time when we’re all watching the pennies, Amazon has decided to add a further 100 songs on its download site, costing just 29 of your coppers each. The songs include the likes of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face and Leona Lewis’ Run, but there are some good ones too… Cold Play’s Viva La Vida, Pet Shop Boys Love etc..

Amazon has been adding around 10,000 songs a day to its download library since its launch last December, with album prices dipping as low as £3! This is an aggressive move by the online store, and one that we hope will have the likes of iTunes following suit. Looks like another war is about to break out, people. Hold onto your hats, this could get ugly! Or beautiful, depending on which side of the fence you’re sitting on…
