Motorola unveils ‘Pre-alike’ QA4 Evoke
March 31, 2009 by Insider Staff
Think you’ve seen the Motorola QA4 Evoke before? Well you’d be forgiven for thinking that given that Motorola’s newest handset has more than a hint of the iPhone and the Palm Pre about it.
Okay, it’s almost inevitable that the QA4 Evoke was going to be compared to the Pre, given that it’s a touchscreen handset with a slide-out keypad. Admittedly it’s not a full-on QWERTY keyboard that slides out from under the 2.8-inch touchscreen, but the similarities are undeniable.
Okay it does have a virtual QWERTY keyboard, and that’s not all. The Motorola AQ4 Evoke also has a full HTML web browser, an accelerometer, RSS reading and messaging, social network access, a two-megapixel camera with video recording, A-GPS, stereo Bluetooth, and a MicroSD slot.
Whether all that’s enough to see it take on the big boy mobiles remains to be seen. If appearances are anything to go by, it should be able to hold its own.
