Archos Android Internet Tablet incoming July!

The Archos Android Internet Tablet has officially been announced for a July release. Why should we care? Only because this is the French PMP purveyor’s first foray into the land of telephonics! And with the heralded Android OS no less.

Okay, so what do we know about the Archos Android Internet Tablet? Well, details are still more sketchy than a Rolf Harris note pad, with only the size of the screen (five-inches), the hard drive (500GB) and the fact that it’ll support Flash announced. And the fact that it’ll make calls, of course.

Details of the release date and the £470 price tag were in fact released via the company’s financial results for 2008. It was at first thought the Archos Android Internet Tablet wouldn’t see the light of day until September, but the document implies that it’ll now hit stores in Q3.

Not content with whetting our appetites with the news of the Android Internet Tablet’s imminent arrival, Archos has also just released a firmware for the Archos 5 and 7 that allows you to view 720p video. That’s right, PMP fans. High-Definition in your pocket. Just head over to Archos.com for the firmware update that’ll allow you to watch She’s Just Not Into You in HD on the move.
