Wind U123Netbook-maker extraordinaire MSI has unveiled yet another small, cheap laptop. The U123 is a mid-range 10.1-inch model due to launch in Japan next month.

Weighing just 1kg, the laptop measures up at a svelte 260 x 180 x 20mm and runs on Windows XP.

Specification-wise, there’s a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB of memory and, depending on your preference, either 80GB, 120GB or 160GB of hard disk drive storage space. There’s a 1.3-megapixel webcam, which can be upgraded to 2-megapixel if you want to shell out a bit extra.

On the connectivity front, there’s a card reader, trio of USB ports and Wi-Fi, plus the option to add Bluetooth too.

No word on a UK release date or price tag yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for more info.
