Apple releases iTunes 8.1

March 12, 2009 by Insider Staff

iTunes 8.1Apple has followed up the unveiling of its brand new talking iPod shuffle with an update for iTunes, bringing its music library and player application up to version 8.1.

The update, which is available to download for free at the Apple website, fixes a host of iTunes bugs while adding a decent selection of new features. Apple’s Genius sidebar recommendation feature has been expanded to include video and TV shows, and users who manually sync their iPods can now hit an “AutoFill” button to top up any remaining space with more music from their libraries.

CDs can now be imported at higher quality by default, while general speed and slickness when navigating your library or accessing the iTunes Store has been given a boost.
