Apple launches new Mac Mini
March 3, 2009 by Insider Staff
We’ve been waiting for what seems like an age for Apple to update the smallest member of the Mac desktop family – but finally a new Mac Mini has been launched.
Available now with prices starting at £499, the new Mini looks very similar to the old version (well, there’s only so much Apple could do with what was already an incredibly dinky desktop).
Around the back Apple has bolstered the Mini DVI video output with its new Mini DisplayPort connector (ideal for hooking the Mini up to Apple’s LED Cinema Display), but the main change is the inclusion of an Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics card – apparently five times more powerful than the GPU found in the old Mini.
There are two variants of the Mini available, one with 120GB of hard disk space and one with 320GB. Both have 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors.
