Sony VAIO P gets Instant On; we rejoice

February 19, 2009 by Insider Staff

Sony VAIO P “Give me a P please Bob! A Sony VAIO P!” That’s what Blockbuster contestants up and down the country will be saying when Sony releases its new “ultra-portable” laptop (not a netbook! Sony doesn’t like it if you call it that!), not least because it will now be boasting Corel’s Instant On technology.

So what does the Instant On technology offer? Exactly what it sounds like. You’ll be able to turn on your Sony VAIO P and instantly use operations such as the web browser, email, media player and IM client without having to wait for what seems like eternity for Windows Vista to start up. It could just prevent that Michael Douglas Falling Down moment that’s inside all of us!

The Sony VAIO P won’t exactly be the cheapest “ultra-portable” on the market, but with nifty features like 1.6GHz Intel Atom processors, GPS, 3G and now Instant On technology, it looks like being the most well-endowed piece in your pocket!
