Archos unveils skinny 10s netbook
February 17, 2009 by Insider Staff
A bit of netbook news now, and Archos has just unveiled the 10s – the follow-up to the Archos 10. Bizarrely the Archos 10 is yet to hit the shelves, but the French company has already announced its successor. Not that we’re complaining, we love a good netbook.
So what’s so special about the Archos 10s that the company couldn’t wait a few months to announce it? Well, it’s super-skinny. We’re talking just 20mm thick. In netbook terms that makes the 10s the Kate Moss of ultra-mini laptops. But does that mean it won’t be carrying many features? Not on your nelly furtado!
The 10s will have HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, but will also be powered by an Intel Atom processor and come with a choice of hard drives ranging from 60GB to 160GB.
Archos also introduced us to a new nine-inch tablet netbook that it’s working on. Similarly, this will have a choice of hard drives, ranging from 60GB to 160GB, but this will measure a hunger-inducing 17mm thick. And you thought the Asus range of netbooks was skinny.
