Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 confirmed!

February 13, 2009 by Insider Staff

Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is happening! That’s what publishers Activision-Blizzard have announced, and according to themselves, it’ll be “the most anticipated title of 2009″. Quite a boast.

It’s a strange one, because there has actually been another addition to the Call of Duty series since Modern Warfare. We’re talking about Call of Duty: World at War. Still, Activision-Blizzard aren’t wrong when they say that this will be one of the most hotly anticipated titles, given that Modern Warfare won numerous accolades and is up for a number of gaming BAFTAs.

To be developed by Infinity Ward, developers of the original, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to be a straight sequel to the immensely popular original, taking its setting once again from modern theatres of war such as the Middle East and Baltic states.

Details are still rather sketchy, with Activision-Blizzard not releasing anything firm about the game’s content, but expect a kick-ass game later this year!

Any more for any war…
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Before the “official” sequel to this is released later this year, get the original to see what all the fuss is about. It’s modern warfare at its most realistic, with awesome co-op.

Call of Duty: World at War
Okay, it’s another Call of Duty title, but they make them so well. This one goes back to World War II and visits the jungles of the Pacific for an altogether more visceral experience. Bloody war!

Frontlines: Fuel of War
Not as celebrated as the Call of Duty games for obvious reasons, but still an enjoyable blast. Use futuristic technologies and next-gen weaponry (such as drones) to help you join forces on the frontline. Awesome.
