Fujitsu eBook comes with colour screen!

Fujitsu eBookThe Fujitsu eBook. Never heard of it? Well, get used to it, because that could just be the biggest rival to the Kindle 2, when it’s released. How? By firing digital shots at it with a massive colour screen, that’s how!

That’s right, no sooner had we been gushing over the Kindle 2, that a rival of rainbow-like proportions arrives on the scene. Fujitsu has kitted out its digital reader with its own FLEPia technology, which allows you to read digital books, magazines and newspapers on its humungous screen – much like the Kindle 2.

You’ll squeeze out a whopping 50 hours worth of juice from the battery, meaning you could get to Peru and back and it’ll still be going, all from a single charge. Oh, and it’s got stereo speakers, which suggests to us that it’ll play audio books as well.

The snag? It’s currently only in Japan. And even when it does make it’s way over here, it’s likely to cost the best part of half a grand. Not cheap. Still, it is in colour…
