BAFTA Game of the Year nominees announced
February 10, 2009 by Insider Staff
What was your favourite game of 2008? Was it war-fest Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare? How about zombie thriller Left 4 Dead? Or did Marcus Fenix do it for you in Gears of War 2? Well, all of the above have been nominated in BAFTA’s shortlist for the 2008 Game of the Year.
The British Academy Video Games Awards honour the blood, sweat, and tears of the developers of the best videogames over the past 12 months, but the GAME Award of 2008 is the only one the public can vote on.
As well as Gears of War 2, Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty 4, the nominees include Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Guitar Hero: World Tour, LittleBigPlanet, Professor Layton, Wii Fit and World of Warcraft Lich King.
Fancy casting your vote? Just head over to the British Academy Video Games Awards site. No doubt the winner will probably burst out in a splurge of tears, a la Kate Winslet.
For the full list of categories and nominees, just head to BAFTA. There are far too many to list here. That and the fact that we’re too lazy to write them all. We will say that Call of Duty 4 has been nominated in seven categories. Keep an eye out for the results…
