Sim2 Solar Series TV incoming!

February 6, 2009 by Insider Staff

Sim2 Solar Series TVThe Sim2 Solar Series television, that of the stratospheric contrast ratio, will be surfacing in our shops sometime in the “second quarter of 2009″. Fact!

But why should we care? Well, Sim2 is fast becoming an Italian institution. Purveyors of prime projectors from the Peninsula (how’s that for alliteration?), the company’s up there with pasta, espresso and, erm, moustachioed plumbers in dungarees. Now, though, it’s turning its hand from projectors to this rather stylish telly.

The Solar Series 47-inch HDTV, though, is about much more than just aesthetics. This is the first set to be kitted it out with Dolby Vision technology, which modulates LED backlighting, allowing for stratospheric contrast ratios that’ll give you blacks that are blacker than a very deep hole, and whites that are so bright you’ll need to put on some sunnies.

Still no word on price as of yet but, being Sim2 and judging from their projector prices, you can be sure that their Solar Series TVs won’t come in cheap. We’d start saving now if we were you. In the meantime, watch this space for more news…
