Garmin and Asus launch the nuvifone G60

In our third bit of mobile phone news of the day, Garmin and Asus have announced the arrival of the nuvifone G60 – the long-awaited satnav phone! A chatnav if you will.
If you get lost and phone the wife for help (bear with us on this one), but can’t stand the sound of her voice shouting directions at you, no problemo. Just turn off the phone, switch to satnav mode and listen to the posh, soothing voice of your satnav, instead. That’s the big feature of the nuvifone that satnav experts and mini-netbook specialists Asus are pushing.
So what sort of specs are we talking? Well, as well as the sexy 3.5-inch touchscreen display that makes this as awesome as any of Garmin’s dedicated satnavs, it has 3.5G so it’s super-fast for web browsing, Wi-Fi and a three-megapixel camera, making this possibly one of the best GPS-enabled phones around.
Asus and Garmin are both respcted in their certain fields, so here’s hoping that they can pull off a collaboration that’s as popular as Sunny and Cher, Posh and Becks, erm, Ronny and Reggie Cray. Okay, maybe not that last one, but you know what we mean…
