Asus unveils the Eee PC 1000 HE, man!
February 2, 2009 by Insider Staff
Say hello to the Asus Eee PC 1000 HE, an “extended” version of the Asus Eee PC 1000. What that means is it’s only gone and had an, ahem, enlargement. Like a dissatisfied page three model, it’s had an enlargement… in the old battery department, jumping from a size 5 (hours) to a hand-filling 9.5 (hours).
The fact that Asus has nearly doubled the battery life means that you’d never be caught short when your train is cancelled because of a paltry bit of snow! The news of the update follows the CES announcements that Asus will be launching the Eee Wi-Fi Keyboard and Asus Eee PC T91.
Obviously the battery life is just part of the appeal here. This portable bad boy also touts a 160GB hard drive, an Intel Atom processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a ten-inch screen and some rather nifty isolated buttons on the keyboard that is perfect for our fat digits.
And how much has Asus “extended” the price of this ten-inch laptop? Not by much, actually. Expect it to go on sale over here for a reasonable treble ton.
