March 28, 2008 by Insider Staff
Getting crystal clear DAB radio in your car can mean ripping out your existing system to make way for a completely fresh set-up. But the launch of the new Pure Highway enables you to sucker digital radio stations to your windscreen for just 70 quid.
The Highway works by finding a free FM frequency to transmit quality DAB broadcasts to your existing car stereo.
Top talents
FM transmission – Fire up the Highway and it’ll automatically snoop out which FM frequency is free so you can programme your car stereo radio. Once in tune, you’ll get a stable signal but should you lose reception, a quickSCAN button will help find the next available free slot in seconds.
Pause and rewind – Like any DAB radio worth is broadcasting salts, you can pause and rewind programmes using its ReVu feature. This is especially handy on the Highway, should you need to stop for at the services or miss the title of a song that’s just come on.
iPod friendly – The Highway also lets you hook up your iPod or MP3 player via an 3.5mm audio-in socket, so its can stream your playlists and music library via an FM frequency to your car stereo.
Pure Highway Best price: £68.99 (including delivery) on 28 March 2008.
