Navman launches super slim Spirit satnav series
January 15, 2009 by Insider Staff

Your average satnav is a chunky fella, sitting on the dashboard like Humpty Dumpty after swallowing an atlas. Not the new Navman Spirit satnav series though, no no: the 4.3inch models are super slim at just 13.5mm thick, but will still tell you where to go and tote the latest mod cons. Read on for the lowdown after the jump.
GPS gadget head Navman has just announced three new models, the S200 Regional, S200 Europe (Guess which of the two has extra European maps?) and S300T. Despite their skinny shells, all three include Navman’s swish Touch Glide interface, 3D junction views so you don’t end up going round the bend on a roundabout, and full 2D pedestrian mode.
There’s Bluetooth inside as well, but it’s not just for calling hands free: lash it up to your mobile and the Spirit satnav will use the connection to jump online and pull down the nearest local attractions via Navman Live Local search. The S300T will even use it to download traffic updates for where you’re headed and re-route to dodge the latest jam.
The Spirit series should find its way onto shelves later this month, with the S200 Regional starting from just £179.99 and the S300T at £249.99. When you think of how much a similarly specced TomTom Go Live would set you back, that’s a steal.
