Sony announces new VAIO P netbook

January 8, 2009 by Insider Staff

Sony VAIO PThere have been more rumours about Sony launching a netbook at CES in recent days than there has been news about Kevin Pietersen leaving the England cricket captaincy (and that’s a lot). Well, the wait is over, because Sony has now officially announced that it will be launching the VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC netbook next month.

As you can see from the picture it’s really cute and dinky, weighing in at just 635g. It’s tiny size doesn’t mean a tiny mind though. This baby is packing an eight-inch, ultra-wide LCD screen, which (as with most Sony screens) is a delight to use. The Japanese company has also stuffed in as much connectivity gubbinry as you could imagine – GPS, 3G broadband, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

So how much will this highly portable, high-class netbook cost? A hefty £850. Still, you do get a choice of delightful colours, including garnet red, emerald green, onyx black, crystal white white and classic black. Psychedelic man! More details as we get them…
