It’s an Asus Eee PC extravaganza!
January 7, 2009 by Insider Staff
Asus has gone crazy at CES, stealing the early show awards with some really innovative computer widgetry, including what is essentially a computer in a keyboard, a really sexy swivel touchscreen laptop, and two computers in one. To find out what we’re talking about, read on…
Asus Eee T91
First up, the Asus Eee T91. At first glance this little beauty looks just like any other ordinary laptop, but take a closer look and you’ll see it’s got an 8.9-inch touchscreen display, which swivels all the way round so it can close on itself and work as a tablet. If that wasn’t tempting enough it’s as lissom as they come, weighing just 900g and measuring just one-inch thick. Asus has even kitted it out with GPS and a TV tuner (you know, in case you get lost and are bored).
Asus Eee Wi-Fi Keyboard
Next up was the Asus Eee Wi-Fi keyboard – the sexiest typing facilitator that we’ve seen – and we’ve seen a few. Asus has shoved as much tech into this wafer-thin keyboard as it can. It’s wireless, has a five-inch touchscreen panel, a full QWERTY keyboard (naturally), is Wi-Fi enabled, has a solid state drive, Ethernet and as many connectivity options as you can imagine.
Asus M50
Finally, Asus hit us with the M50 – essentially a laptop with two computers hidden inside its shell. What do we mean? Well, exactly that. There are two machines in the laptop with separate processors and storage, which use one battery to power them both. There are even two screen – the full size screen for the power-monger and a mini 4.3-incher for the other where the trackpad would normally be. Asus has even given this a new name: the “instant internet device”, mainly because you can access the web via the smaller screen with a quick boot up.
It looks like being another great year for Asus!
