Last-minute stocking fillers
December 23, 2008 by Insider Staff
If stockings are your thing then you’ll want to check this little list out. We’ve got nine affordable widgets to stick in Christmas stockings. No legs allowed…
1 Breo Roam
Check out this handy little sports watch. The strap contains something called Tourmaline, which apparently gives you added vitality. Stick it on when you go running in the New Year to get rid of all that over-indulgence around your belly!
2 Transcend 4GB Fingerprint USB Flash drive
This USB Flash drive has a fingerprint scanner for ultra-protection. So unless somebody is going to chop off your finger to get at your “specialist” files, they should be safe. And all for under £20.
3 Cylinder Travel Speakers
External speakers for your iPod can look as dull as David Cameron. You can’t claim that with this pair, though. They cost under £15 and are shaped like a funky cylinder. Clever, no?
4 Cozy Feet Microwaveable Boots
One thing about Britain in the winter, or pretty much any time really, is it’s cold. Stick these slippers in the microwave for two minutes, then slip them on your feet, and they’ll be toastier than chestnuts roasting on a fire. But not tastier.
5 Griffin iKaraoke
Get your singing voice ready and courage dutched up with a few eggnogs, then break out the iKaraoke. It turns your iPod into a karaoke machine so you can annoy everyone this Christmas with your own rendition of Hallelujia.
6 iBlock Speakers
Another novelty speaker for your iPod, but this one’s shaped like a LEGO brick. It just hooks up to the bottom, looks neat and blares out some block-rocking beats. Sorry.
7 PicooZ Tandem Z-1
Little boys love radio-controlled vehicles. They love helicopters. So what better to put in their stocking than this twin-rotor radio-controlled helicopter. It’s the logical thing to do.
8 Sat-Nag
OK, this could be seen as annoying, useless, just plain ridiculous, but that’s what some stocking gifts are all about, no? It’s a fake satnav that blurts out annoying instructions in a posh voice. Pretty much like a real satnav then.
9 Solar Airship
Let’s go fly a kite… actually, let’s not. Let’s fly the Solar Airship instead. It looks like an eight-metre-long bin bag, but when it reacts with the sun’s heat it inflates and raises to the air. Like magic.
