Game on!

Bored on your Christmas holidays? How about getting one of these top Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii games to play this Christmas, whilst your munching down on a turkey drumstick? There’s alien hordes, crazy Japanese-style platformers and fitness games. Check them out…
Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360)
Gears of War? More like Gears of Phwoar! The first one was an unbelievable success, and this sequel looks like its following in its footsteps. Oversized, muscle-mountain Marcus Fenix is back for some more third-person apocalyptic warfare – as the 360 does best. It sold over three million units worldwide in its first six weeks alone, soi f you’re one of the few who hasn’t got it yet, then grab yourself a Lancer and get ready to take on the Locust again. It’ll see you through the Christmas holidays, no problemo.
Little Big Planet (PlayStation 3)
This couldn’t be more different from the glut future-apocalypse titles we’ve been exposed to this Christmas. You get to play as, ahem, Sackboy, in what can only be described as an hilarious platformer. The best bit, though, is that there’s a level designer for you to upload user generated content. As the advert says: “Play with everythiiiiiiiiing!” And that’s exaxtly what you can do in every level. Fun for adults and kids alike, if you don’t want little Jim Bob playing blood-thirsty shooters.
Wii Fit (Nintendo Wii)
Work off some of that turkey, stuffing, mince pies, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, biscuits, chocolate… the list goes on, with Nintendo’s fun way to keep your trousers loose (unless you like those fashionable drainpipe jeans of course). It comes with the Wii Balance Board, so you can realistically and virtually snowboard down a mountain or walk a tight rope. You can even chart your progress to see how you’re doing. You’ll look like a plumb, but at least it’ll get you moving this Christmas.
