iLuv iPod dock is iLuvly

December 18, 2008 by Insider Staff

iLuv i9500iLuv has just announced that it will be showcasing a new iPod dock at CES next month and it looks iLuvly (okay, we’ll stop making that joke now). So what? Well This isn’t just any old dock, this is a vertical, wall-mountable effort entering the rapidly growing deluxe end of the iPod dock market.

Opting for a vertical design the iLuv i9500 will also be able to hold four CDs as well as your iPod. It can even burn MP3 and WMA files to the CDs. It handles SD cards and USB storage devices and has an AM/FM radio with PLL digital tuning technology and 32 presets, alarm clock functionality.

But it’s the sound that’s the most important thing. You can have all these fancy extras, but if it sounds like David Beckham, then it’s about as much use as, well David Beckham at a Tenors convention. Luckily, with two 45W speakers and a sizeable subwoofer, this should have enough sonic boom to fill even the largest of rooms with lovely stereo sound. There’s no word on a price yet, but more should be revealed next month…

You want posh iPod docks? Check this one out. It’s got a walnut veneer casing, has a rotary wheel, called a RotoDial, on the top for controlling your tunes, and counds awesome.

This iPod dock is slick, just like the philandering cockney it was named after that Michael Caine portrayed (not the one Jude Law did). It has touch-sensitive controls, looks unbelievably stylish, and sounds pretty good too.

Okay, this iPod dock may not look all that, but it’s actually a wireless network music system. It plays music from CDs, DAB/FM radio or your iPod and has a slew of sonic technoloigies to make awesome ear-candy.
