Hotpoint FF4DX Stainless Steel
July 1, 2009 by Insider Staff

Hotpoint has introduced a whole new category to the fridge-freezer market with its unique two-door plus two-drawer design, but will it catch on? Read on for the verdict…
Pros
Hotpoint has managed to introduce a whole new category to the fridge-freezer market with its unique two-door plus two-drawer design. It’s an incredibly practical cold storage solution that gives you great access to your food. The double-doored fridge section offers all the convenience of a side-by-side model, while the two freezer drawers, keep your frozen foods separate. All in all it’ll hold enough food to survive a winter spent suffering from severe agoraphobia. The stainless steel finish looks great and inside there are plenty of compartments for vegetable crisping, bottle storage, whatever. The separate freezer drawers mean there’s less temperature shift every time you need to open one. It’s such a logical design, we’re surprised nobody thought of it sooner!
Cons
The freezer section is slightly less convenient to access than a side-by-side fridge-freezer and there’s no water dispenser. But now we’re getting picky.
Overall
With tank-like dimensions, this stainless steel fridge is one for large families or the morbidly obese. Its radical two-door-two-drawer design will be just the thing for many kitchens, where the freezer doesn’t need to be accessed all the time, but still needs a large capacity. The upper section of course is at the perfect height to grab stuff from the doors or reach into the back for that last pot of yogurt. With the array of easily visible compartments, keeping this fridge clean and tidy should be a breeze. All this and an attractive stainless steel finish. Now that’s cool.
