Rock Band 2 patched to work with Lips mic

As slightly oversized foreheaded presenters, Ant and Dec, once sang: watch us wreck the mic! Luckily for us, Microsoft and MTV Games have done exactly the opposite, improving the mic. The mic for Xbox 360 singing game Lips to be precise. How? Well, the two companies are working on a patch to make it work with Rock Band 2.

MTV Multiplayer is reporting a joint statement from both firms, explaining that “Microsoft and MTV Games are working together to ensure consumers will be able to use the wireless mics from Lips with Rock Band 2 after launch.”

The “after launch” statement has us a little worried, as there’s no specific timeframe, but still, that can only be a good thing, right? That is unless you’re tone deaf… or sound like an X-Factor contestant.
