Dell XPS M1330
December 4, 2008 by Insider Staff
This slender beast is one of the most stylish laptops on the market, packed with plenty of features. Is it for you? Read on…
Pros
One of the slimmest and best-looking 13.3-inch laptops on the market, the Dell XPS M1330 has a super-slim LED backlit screen and a keyboard that is just impossible not to like. Dell has mixed this style with plenty of performance, as you’ll find the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of RAM. Even the graphics are impressive, as the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS dedicated card is ideal for games on the go.
Cons
There is little to fault here as Dell seems to have covered all the bases, but you may be disappointed by the 160GB hard drive, which is rather average in hard drive standards. But now we’re being pedantic.
Overall
If there’s one ultra-portable laptop that can be called a design classic, then this has to be it. From the wedged shape that measures a mere 24mm at the front tip, to the magnesium-alloy and high-gloss finish, this laptop oozes style. You can even choose from eight different colours, which gives it a personalised feel. The fact it’s also 2.1kg light, but still manages to pack in a hefty amount of performance and all the usual array of ports and connections you’ll need, simply makes it one of the most sought-after laptops in recent times.
