Cannon C60DPX
November 19, 2008 by Insider Staff
As far as cooking food goes pretty much any cooker will do the job. If however you’re after one that will lovingly roast your morsels of grub to mouthwatering perfection it’s sometimes best to go the whole hob and get one with expert cooking modes, like this Cannon C60DPX. But is it a case of well done or overdone? Find out here.
Pros
Expertly engineered Cannon’s clever steel-finish cooker introduces an ingenius new feature called Precision Cooking. This is a series of preset modes that tailors the heat source, distribution and intensity to the type of food you’re cooking. There’s the usual fan mode, but also settings for cakes, poultry, fish and countless other foods, taking a lot of the guesswork out of getting your meals cooked to perfection – a seriously handy feature for beginners. You also get a powerful wok ring on the hob and a fast heating Solarplus grill built into the small oven for speedy cooking.
Cons
The dials feel a little lightweight, but Cannon’s 5-year guarantee should dispel any reliability concerns. It would be nice to see induction at this price, but alas it’s a choice between gas and electric for the hob.
Overall
The Professional 600 line is a welcome addition to Cannon’s range, bringing some brushed steel style to the kitchen. The Precision system is the kind of genuinely useful shortcut function that new chefs will appreciate, while the speedy start-up times of the grill and top oven will be loved by anyone with a busy lifestyle.
