Zanussi ZKC5540WIt’s hard enough for untrained cooks such as ourselves to whip up a culinary treat without getting bogged down by complicated cooker controls resembling a cockpit. Cookers such as this Zanussi ZKC5540W offer easy cooking with none of the fuss. But will it be plain sailing in our review? Read on to find out.

Pros
This Zanussi-Electrolux cooker is supremely easy to keep clean thanks to its smooth black and white paneling and black glass-topped hob. The powerful main oven is fan assisted by Zanussi’s Thermaflow system for faster cooking and timer controlled by the digital clock for convenience. It’s also incredibly easy to use with the six big dials facing upwards rather than out and a big digital display in the centre giving you information on the oven temperatures and cooking times. The doors are double glazed and air cooled in between to ensure the front of the glass never gets more than warm.

Cons
The white finish looks a little old fashioned, but stainless steel is also available at a higher price point.

Overall
The sculpted panels of the Zanussi look smart with black tinted easy-clean glass. Plus it’s one of the safest models around with its dials up out of reach and no chance of the oven windows getting hot enough to burn. With the timer controlled oven and big upward-facing display it’s one of the simplest cookers to use too.
