Pros
This solidly built washing machine feels built to last and its quiet operating noise level is a good sign too. It’s controlled by the brand’s Logixx system, which can intelligently control temperature, spin speed and wash cycle to suit different materials and alter the temperature to remove certain types of stain.

Cons
The design isn’t going to win any prizes for originality and you’re stuck with the white finish. It’s also rather pricey for an 8kg machine because your paying for the brand name and the sturdy build quality.

Overall
The old school looks are deceptive – there’s some clever stain removing and fabric treatment going on here. If there’s blood on your shirt, for example, the water will run cold for a short period before raising to the ideal temperature for dissolving it. The drum is textured with diamond shapes that turn robust material over when it spins in one direction and treats fragile cloth more gently when it spins the other way. There are plenty of cycles to choose from too ranging from the 60-minute power wash to the 15-minute freshen up. All this and a triple A rating from the Energy Trust.
