Indesit Moon SIXL 145s (blue)

The smart design of the Indesit Moon SIXL 145s washing machine isn’t just aesthetic. Sure it looks smart but there’s more under the hood than you might expect from this budget spinner, such as a specially designed soap drawer to minimize cleaning and internal plumbing. Nice. But will it wash with our review?

Pros
The Moon is a radical new design for Indesit and its simple circular design compliments any kitchen you put it in. The striking minimalism is achieved by putting the soap drawer on the inside of the door. It a very logical move because it puts the detergent right inside the wash to save a lot of internal plumbing and therefore cuts the cost too. It looks like a premium model, despite the Moon being so aggressively priced to remain ultra wallet friendly.

Cons
To keep the costs low, there are no fancy cycles or stain removing programs and it doesn’t have the sound damping of the larger machines. The spin cycle is a little slower at 1400rpm and it’ll only take an 8kg load.

Overall
It’s an award winning design an one that’ll make your kitchen look good rather than standing out itself. But it’s the simplicity of the design that makes the Moon a winner. Putting the detergent drawer in the door is a master stroke that makes this washer easier to use and easier to clean, while the simplified mechanics mean it’s cheaper to produce and likely to last longer too.
