BlackBerry takes aim with the Javelin

August 19, 2008 by Insider Staff

Blackberry JavelinThe Javelin is set to take over from the BlackBerry Curve sometime next year, but that hasn’t stopped its specs slipping out onto the web. Although it’s not been officially acknowledged yet by its maker, RIM’s latest offering is shaping up to be a slick little multimedia packed mobile phone.

These spy shots, courtesy of Tech Radar, show the sleek new look for the Curve replacement. Under the hood it’s rumoured to pack a speedy 512MHz processor and 256MB of onboard storage. If that’s not enough, there’s a MicroSD card slot for expansion, which you’ll probably want to make use of as it’s packing a 3.2 megapixel snapper.

Blackberry Curve 8310 – If you can’t wait until the Javelin is available, the Curve will keep you going until it’s finally released.

Nokia E71 – Nokia’s take on the Qwerty equipped talker is a feast of stylish metal and easy to tap keys

HTC TyTN II – Slip this HTC round sideways and out slides a decent size keyboard for better text input.
