Xbox 360 gets 60GB hard drive overhaul
August 18, 2008 by Insider Staff
It’s all go in the world of games consoles at the moment. Whether it’s TV recording add-ons, extra sensitive controllers or hard drive expansions – the big three are all trying their darndest to grab your attention and hopefully relieve you of a little spare cash in the process.
Now it’s Microsoft’s turn to give its older Xbox 360 console a leg up to make it look more attractive in the face of the younger competition. The good news is that this means that the ageing 20GB model is being replaced by a more sprightly 60GB version – at no extra cost. Bonus.

HD gaming
Don’t forget that the Xbox 360 was the first machine to bring high def gaming to the masses, and its experience in this area still shows.
Downloads to go
Xbox Live isn’t just about thrashing your mates online – you can also grab game demos, mini games and even HD movies.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite – If 60GB still seems a little on the low side, the Xbox 360 Elite packs twice that plus a digital HDMI connection.
Sony Playstation 3 – When you’re done gaming, slip in a Blu-ray disc and get a stunning high def movie player as well.
Nintendo Wii – Nintendo shows it’s not what you’ve got, but what you do with it with its air waving, motion sensing console.
