Blaupunkt TravelPilot 100: from A to B without the frills
August 6, 2008 by Insider Staff
Designed as an affordable antidote to complex, feature-packed satnav devices (the ones that also play music, let you make hands-free phone calls and even rattle off photos) the TravelPilot 100 is a simple, straightforward in-car navigator that gets you to your destination via the speediest route. Easy to use and quick on the draw when it comes to devising routes, it gets you from A to B with a minimum of fuss.
That’s not to say it’s short on useful extras: it’ll keep tabs on your speed, for instance, warning you if you’re overdoing it for the road you’re currently on, and the 3.5-inch touch screen automatically switches to night mode when the sun goes down, making it a cinch to see whatever the time of day.
Top talents
Simple and speedy
Quick route calculation means the TravelPilot speedily adjusts itself when you take a wrong turn.
Typo tolerant
It’s clever enough to realise when you’ve misspelt your destination (all too easy when quickly tapping a touch screen).
Safety first
Stray over the speed limit and the TravelPilot will bark out a warning, ensuring you don’t fall foul of the dreaded speed camera.
