HP’s finger flicking good PC

July 31, 2008 by Insider Staff

HP TouchSmart PCFind your regular desktop PC a pain to interact with using a normal keyboard and mouse? Then you need HP’s new TouchSmart PC – a machine you can command using just your fingers. In addition to normal prods and pokes, it recognizes gestures too, so it’s much easier to tell it what to do.

After you’ve checked your email or done a bit of web surfing, the TouchSmart can turn its hand to entertainment, thanks to its built in DVD drive and TV tuner. You can browse through the channels on offer with a flick of your finger or if you’re finding all that prodding a bit too much there’s a wireless keyboard and mouse too.

Top talents
Intuitive interaction

Unlike other touch sensitive PCs that only respond to a single poke, the HP recognises gestures and movements as well so it’s much more natural to use.

All in one
With everything tucked neatly behind its 22in screen and wireless peripherals included there’s only one cable to plug in and it’s simple to store out of sight at the end of the day.

Media mogul
Not only can you playback DVDs, but the built in TV tuner and Windows Media Center software turns it into a full blown Sky+ scarer.

Coming out: August
