Apple iPod Touch 32GBThe iPod touch boasts extremely good quality sound, but you won’t hear it through crummy speaker docks. And, the last thing you want to do with this musical diva is keep it stuffed inside your pocket.

Follow our tips and get your iPod’s volume pumping. You won’t be able to keep your hands off it!

Step 1: Go vintage
The Fatman iTube might look old fashioned, but its vintage valve technology still gives one of the richest and warmest sounds around. It looks unlike any other iPod dock around too, so there’ll be no mistaking you’re a music fan who’s serious about their sound.

Step 2: Go loud
The iPod’s built in amplifier isn’t particularly powerful. The Logic 3 Jivebox, on the other hand, is. Inside its cubic shell is new HD-class amplification technology, that delivers ear-wobbling volume without distortion. It’s also great at lower volumes, thanks to the adaptive nature of HD amps.

Step 3: Go big
The Intempo iFI-01 is a true tower of power, packing in two 15 watt speakers and a separate 30 watt subwoofer. Its meaty output is matched by an imposing design. Everyone wants to put their iPod on a pedestal, and now you can!

Must have accessories
Remote control – Make sure you choose a speaker dock with a remote control, as not all iPod-compatible stereos can take charge of the music player’s output. Logic 3’s Jivebox has a simple remote, that lets you skip tracks or whole albums with a single button.

Video output
has a video output, as does the – Some iPod docks have video outputs, so you can connect Apple’s music player to a TV too. If you’re keen to show off clips on the big screen while letting a speaker dock handle the sound, you’ll need a video output. The Fatman iTubeLogic 3 Jivebox.

Universal dock – If you’ve already got a stereo then a universal iPod dock is for you. There are plenty to pick from, and they’ll allow your MP3 player to connect to a standard stereo’s auxiliary input. Most come with a remote control too.
