Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Windows Mobile powered monster
June 24, 2008 by Insider Staff
The Xperia X1 may be Sony Ericsson’s first foray into the world of Windows Mobile, but that’s only one aspect of this feature-bursting handset.
Touch is all the rage these days and as you’d expect, the X1 won’t ignore your tapping, but if you need to get down and do some serious input then nothing beats the good old keyboard.
Turn it sideways, slide the screen across and you’ll find a full QWERTY keyboard hidden beneath. The arc/slide design also kicks the hi-res screen at an angle so it’s a bit like a tiny little laptop. Add-on a 3.2 megapixel snapper, the new panel-based interface, lightning fast 3G connection and it’s a pretty formidable line-up.
Top talents
Slip and slide – close it up and it’s a touchy-feely handset, slide it open and you’ve got a finger-friendly keyboard for tapping out messages.
Windows to go – with the newest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS under the hood, plus Sony Ericsson’s panel interface bolted on top it’s a portable powerhouse.
Blog and go – take snaps and share them online in an instant thanks to the fast 3G connection and integrated blogging support.
