Sony’s titanium super camera

Sony’s new digital camera touts enough megapixels to sink a battleship (so you’ll never have to worry about resolution), all-new intelligent software (so your shots will always be super-sharp) and a super-tough titanium coating (that’ll make you a super-powered shutterbug)!

The lowdown
Sony just whipped the covers off its latest compact camera, packing a jaw-dangling 13.6 megapixels, smile and face-sensing technology and ultra-high light sensitivity.

The Cyber-shot W300 has The Insider’s shutter fingers all of a flutter, however, because it comes clad in a scratch-proof titanium shell.

That luxurious metal means it’ll withstand a pounding without looking bruised and battered. What’s more, because it’s so tough the excellent pictures it takes will remain unscathed inside!

Going up against…
Olympus 850 SW – Olympus’s ultra-tough camera is waterproof, shockproof and packs a healthy eight megapixels. It can’t compete with Sony’s W300 in the style stakes though, so unless you’re planing to hit the pool, it’s still an also-ran in our eyes.

Canon PowerShot G9 – This 12.1 megapixel snapper comes close to toppling Sony’s new compact, but doesn’t quite get there. Still, inside you’ll find 4x optical zoom to compete with Sony’s 3x, so it’s not all bad news.

Sigma DP1 – just as gorgeous as Sony’s W300, and with more megapixels to boot! This 14.06 megapixel compact would be a worthy contender, if it weren’t for the high price tag attached.
