LG GD510 goes Pop!

October 2, 2009 by Insider Staff

lg-pop-1The LG GD510, or “Pop” phone, as those stuffy suits from Seoul would like it to be known amongst cool kids, is a brand new touchscreen blower with barebones spec, but one eco friendly bonus: it’ll charge from the sun’s juices, like the Samsung Blue Earth!

Anyone desperate for hardcore hi-tech specs like 3G, Wi-Fi and a smartphone OS should look elsewhere, but the 3-inch LG GD510 at least looks the part, with a smooth silver finish and only one physical home button marring the surface.

There’s also 8GB of storage on board and a 3MP camera, but the real selling point is the optional battery cover you’ll be able to pick up for the LG GD510, which will muster up talk time purely from the sun’s rays, though how much you’ll be able to use that before next Summer remains to be seen.

The LG GD510 will hit Carphone Warehouse stores in November – price is still MIA, but with HTC offering both Android and Windows mobile budget smartphones next month, it’ll have to come in well under both to prick up our ears.
