HTC P3470 mobile mastermind
May 29, 2008 by Insider Staff
Somewhat like carrying around a pint-sized PC in your pocket, only much more practical and stylish, the HTC P3470 is a masterful little mobile.
You don’t get full-blown Windows, but the mobile version is not to be sniffed at, a version that’s been smartly tailored to the demands of the road warrior.
Speaking of roads, the built in GPS means fewer arguments with you map dyslexic passengers, making for a much more peaceful (and precise) journey. HTC has also thrown in a touchscreen display, expandable memory, a 2-megapixel camera, MP3 player and 240 hours standby so you’ll never want to come home again.
Top talents
Satnav superiority – With your own route genie on board if you see the traffic slowing down ahead you can throw caution to wind and slip off at the next junction.
Touch type – No need to thumb your way around the interface with rollers or buttons, just point at what you want.
Windows to go – Never get bored with your phone again thanks to the millions of add-ons you can download and play with.
Best price: £294.95 on 29 May 2008
Closest rivals
Apple iPhone 8GB – Take touch to a whole new level thanks to the multi-touch interface that lets you do more than just prod. It’s a bit nifty with the music too.
Nokia N95 8GB – Whether you want Wi-Fi or Satnav, a high-res snapper or speedy 3G the N95 ticks so many boxes it’s almost embarrassing.
LG KU990 Viewty – Not to be outdone in the camera stakes LG has just packed a 5-megapixel snapper into this multimedia monster and it can even shoot 120fps video for stunning slow-mo.
