Take Two developing Natal games

September 3, 2009 by Insider Staff

Microsoft Xbox 360Take Two boss Ben Feder has told investors that the company has several units of Microsoft’s motion-tracking thingamajig, Project Natal and that several development teams were working with the new device.

Project Natal is Microsoft’s secret weapon in the console wars – a controller-free motion sensor that converts the movement of your body into game controls. We have heard rumours of a few studios playing with the kit, but the Take Two CEO has confirmed that there are Natal titles in development throughout the company.

“Obviously, we can’t comment on games we haven’t announced,” said Feder, “But those dev kits are embedded in all of our studios, or just about all of our studios, and everybody’s working with them to try to figure out new ways in which we can innovate and create the kind of content that this company is famous for.

No clues as to what titles are in the works, but if we had to guess we reckon the 2K Sports franchise might be a bit Natal’d up at some point. Rockstar’s Table Tennis sim could be amazing, if Take Two can persuade them to revisit it.
