Guitar Hero 5 will import tracks

September 3, 2009 by Insider Staff

Guitar-Hero-5-drumsActivision has announced plans to let Guitar Hero 5 owners import tracks from earlier versions of the game. Unlike Rock Band owners, though, Guitar Heroes will have to pay for the privilege.

Guitar Hero fans might have been a bit envious at yesterday’s news that Rock Band owners can share tracks between different versions of the game. Activision have responded with the news that – yes – GH5 will be able to import tracks from Guitar Hero: World Tour. Unfortunately, this won’t come for free.

“Immediately, players can import 35 songs from Guitar Hero World Tour for 280 points on Xbox Live and $3.50 on the PlayStation Network,” said an Activision spokesman, talking to USA Today.

Activison also confirmed that tracks from Guitar Hero: Smash Hits (launched later this year) will be importable too.
