BlackBerry unveils Bold super 3G handset

May 15, 2008 by Insider Staff

BlackBerry BoldPerhaps the sweetest variety of BlackBerry to date, the Bold delivers the fastest flavour 3G downloads, so you won’t be left hanging.

Plus, it’s got a gorgeous new screen to lap upping up pics, vids and soak up all the web’s tastiest sites.

Naturally it still does all the things a BlackBerry should, such as samurai-sharp email, enabling you to be a proper messaging mogul.

GPS has also steered its way into the handset, meaning you should never need to ask that dodgy looking bloke on the corner for directions. Plus, it’s Wi-Fi enabled, so you can cut down on data costs when you’re in range of a hotspot. The interface has also been given a sleek makeover and there’s a new browser so you can view proper webpages in all their splendidness.

Then there’s the 1GB of built-in memory (with the micro SD option to expand up to 16GB), stereo Bluetooth, a 2-mepapixel shooter and marathon battery life of up to 13 days in standby and 5 hours of talk time.

Top talents
Speedy data – GPRS is fine for text only email, but if you want to make the most of attachments or browsing, HSDPA is the way to go – this basically gives you speedy broadband access on your phone.

Integrated satnav – On the downside you’ll no longer be able to use the excuse that you got lost, but at least you’ll always know where you’re heading.

Big screen – The delicious new display stretches to a half-VGA resolution of 480×320 pixels so it’s perfect for email management or sneaky video watching.

Coming out: Summer 2008

Going up against
Nokia N95 8GB
– With a 5megapixel snapper and 8GB of internal storage space, you could ditch your digicam altogether and just take this out and about.

Apple iPhone – If you’re a more play than work, then the iPhone will keep you entertained and brilliantly connected.

BlackBerry Pearl 8210 – Want all the BlackBerryness but without the bulk? The Pearl 8210 squeezes everything you need into a compact candybar handset.
