August 28, 2009 by Insider Staff

Microsoft Xbox 360All those rumours were spot on: Microsoft’s coughed up and the Xbox 360 price cut is happening. Want to know what savings you’ll get and when? Read on for the numbers.

As expected, Redmond’s slashing the price of the top end Xbox 360 Elite globally. From tomorrow here in the land of Blighty you’ll be able to pick one up for £199.99, pricing it a full 50 quid underneath the new PS3 Slim from Sony.

The Xbox 360 Arcade meanwhile is heading up to £160, so if you had your eyes on the bare bones console specifically you’d better step to the shops ASAP.

And the Xbox 360 Pro? That’s going the way of dodos, white rhinos and Piers Morgan’s self-respect so say your farewells now.

So, is the Xbox 360 price jig enough to tempt you over Sony’s new skinny PS3 offering? And is the Bank Holiday weekend head start with the Xbox 360 a real selling point for you?
