Get a brand new Sony Bravia for less

August 20, 2009 by Insider Staff

Sony Bravia Z5500Sony is offering you the chance to grab a spanking new Bravia at a cut price and do your bit to save the environment to boot. The recycling scheme, which kicks off this Friday, 19 August, will let you chop in your old box in favour of a killer Bravia HDTV, with money off for handing in your aging CRT telly. Read on and we’ll tell you just how to get involved.

Sony’s new TV trade–in scheme is simple. Roll up at a participating Sony store, hand over your old TV and they’ll give you up to £150 off a brand spanking new Bravia TV. There are a couple of snags though: you have to get a 26–inch TV or bigger (not exactly a hardship). And in order to get the full £150 discount, you’ll need to plump for a 46–inch number, or larger.

That means if you nab a Sony Bravia KDL-46WE5, you’ll get it for around £1,100. Still a fair whack, but worth the hit surely.

The good news is that Sony will take any old telly, whether it’s a year old HDTV that you no longer fancy or a hulking CRT with in–built video player. See it as a good chance to clear your gaff of any unwanted gadgetry more than anything else.

The new Sony Bravia TV trade–in scheme will be fronted by aging rocker Alice Cooper, with a new campaign getting underway this weekend. Grab yourself a cheap new Bravia and you’ll be able to see the ad, starring the 70s icon, in glorious HD.
