Radiopaq Sound Jacket – iPod nano booster?

The new Radiopaq Sound Jacket claims to boost the performance of any MP3 living on your iPod nano. But can it really be any better than just snaffling high quality DRM–free tunes instead?

The Radiopaq Sound Jacket reckons it can make your 4th gen iPod nano ‘come alive’, offering an apparent 60 per cent boost in sound quality. There’s an in–built amp which they also say will bring low distortion and wide volume range.

It pulls its power directly from the nano itself, which they say means up to 12 hours continuous listening. That’s a mighty fifty per cent drop from Apple’s quoted 24 hour battery life. And with plenty of high quality MP3s and AACs up for grabs, not to mention decent ear buds, you may want to think twice before turning your slinky nano into something more akin to the positively ancient iPod Mini.

Those who are keen though will be glad to know it’ll play nice with all iPod docks and headphones. But then that seventy quid price tag could quite easily be put towards the entire back catalogue of 90s simpletons Northern Uproar. We know where our cash is going.
