Dell Android device to rival Touch?
July 1, 2009 by Insider Staff
Talk of a Dell smartphone has been hotting up for a while but new whispers suggest the computer giant is planning a pocket-sized, Android-toting device that could rival the iPod Touch.
A report in The Wall Street Journal quotes two insiders who claim to have seen early prototypes of the device. They suggest it apes the looks of Apple’s Touch but is slightly bigger.
It’s thought that the device could hit the shops as soon as late 2009 with development having begun about a year ago. Though it won’t be a phone, Dell apparently has plans to partner with a mobile carrier.
We spotted spy shots of the “Dell Phone” a couple of weeks back – could this really have been the Android internet tablet sneaking out into the wild?
