Sky unveils ‘Australian’ remote for Ashes

June 25, 2009 by Insider Staff

Sky+HDSky+ HD is getting ready to celebrate the Ashes coming to our screens next month, by giving cricket fans something that’s more barmy than England’s own barmy army – an upside down remote control!

At first glance, the altered Sky+ HD remote is like any other Sky remote until, upon close inspection, you realise that it’s a tribute to our Australian counterparts, with every key placed upside down.

Sky has conjured up the upside down remote (which it’s calling the “ultimate gift” to the Aussie team) to make Australian fans feel right at home during the 2009 Ashes series. You see what they did there?

“We hope our specially commissioned upside down remote will help make the team and their fans feel at home – though we’re not so comfortable if they steal a win from us and take remote control of the urn!” Sky said.
Let’s hope England’s hopes don’t go Down Under too. Ha ha, HA. Sorry.
