Huawei U8230 Android phone unveiled

June 18, 2009 by Insider Staff

Huawei U8230 AndroidThe Huawei U8230 has been unveiled at the CommunicAsia mobile showcase and is set to make battery life a key selling point.

The Huawei U8230 is the finished-off and working version of the mystery Huawei mock-up that we saw at this year’s Mobile World Congress. The Huawei U8230 has dropped the glowing blue strip (a shame, we think) but does at least work now, which is something.

Specs are largely an unknown quantity, although we are told it has a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen and can switch between full and half QWERTY keys via the onscreen keypad. The Huawei U8230 comes with a 1500mAH battery, said by Huawei to have the largest battery capacity “among Android-powered handsets currently available.”

T-Mobile have reportedly snapped the Huawei U8230 for the UK when it is finally released later this year.
