Is this the iPod nano 5G?
May 27, 2009 by Insider Staff
The iPod nano 5G won’t be out until later this year at the earliest, but a mock up of what the next lil’ PMP will look like has already surfaced, based on tips from inside sources. Want to know what’s in and what’s out? Read on and see!
We heard recently how an iPod nano 5G could squeeze a camera onboard, but iLounge has gone one further and come up with this concept based on tips it has from what it says is a solid and reliable inside source.
If the tipster proves accurate, the iPod nano 5G does look remarkably like the current iPod nano 4G, but there a few important tweaks. Crucially, the screen gets a wider aspect ratio, 1.5:1, so black bars are banished and movies will fill more of the tiny screen, and the camera we heard about is slotted around the back.
We were holding out for a touchscreen iPod nano 5G that does away with the click wheel, but if the source is right, we might have to wait a while yet. There’s no word on when an iPod nano 5G will be released, but the last two versions have appeared in August/September time, so look for it after the fuss from a new iPhone has died down.
