Designer Tivoli Audio Cappellini hits catwalk

This is the Tivoli Audio Cappellini: a smartened-up version of the Tivoli Audio Model One hi-fi system, that’s been given a bit of a makeover by Italian furniture manufacturer, Capellini for Milan Design Week 2009.

The Tivoli Audio Cappellini is a sexy radio box that’s available in three eye-catching colours: blue, green and brown. Just saying that doesn’t do justice to the psychedelic loveliness of the Cappellini. The Model One was already available in a number of colours (Beige, Black, Cobalt), but those are about as exciting as an Alistair Darling-Gordon Brown dinner party. Throwing in these three new colours would be like chucking Charles Kennedy and a bottle of whiskey into the mix.

As a DAB radio, the model One features a three-inch full-range speaker, bass port, 5:1 ratio analog tuning dial, auxiliary input, Henry Kloss Analog AM/FM tuner, stereo headphone output, and record output.

Also at the Milan Design Week Tivoli Audio unveiled a Tower of Babel sculpture , designed by Ilaria Marelli in conjuction with Tom Devesto, that was created entirely of Tivoli Audio music systems playing live music from all around the world. Well, we suppose someone had to do it…
